It Happened One Night

Watched 'It Happened One Night' today. Definitely in my top ten movie list! For November anyway...
Clark Gable played Peter, a news reporter getting a story on run-away heiress Ellen. And then they fall in love, lose their money and belongings, hitchhike, sleep an straw and eat raw carrots together - not necessarily in that order.
Even though it's black and white, it is one of those few films where you don't even notice. (ie. 'Roman Holiday' and 'Some Like It Hot').
Claudette Colbert has the thinnest eyebrows ever.

Love is Blind

Watching 'Of Human Bondage' just before leaving for camp was a bad idea. I thought about it all those three days and still am now.
Don't misunderstand - it's a great movie - but too deep. Waaay too deep. I don't even understand all of it. But it's definitely saying something about love.
Philip (Leslie Howard) is so completely and helplessly in love with Mildred (Bette Davis) who treats him really badly, but he doesn't care. Then he screws over a woman completely and hopelessly in love with him. And so the cycle goes on.

Insight Swimwear

Insight is the best swimwear brand of my life. I got the top picture ones in Merimbula earlier this year - and they're so amazing! Today I bought myself another pair (the botton picture) and I've been wearing them all day. I love them I love them!!

Maggy Rouff

I'm going to treat you to my this week's favourite dress. You're welcome.

Leo Tolstoy

What an amazing writer. I keep remembering phrases from the book. The writing is just so poetic and insightful and it's a pleasure to read! For an old book it doesn't even have difficult language. The writing is smoother and easier to read than 'Harry Potter'. And the story! So exciting I can't put it down. The scenes, settings, characters, everything.
I strongly recommend 'Anna Karenina' to anyone reading this post. Whoever you are. You will love it like I do!

What A Glorious Feeling

It was raining today...and it reminded me of one of my favourite movies!
Singin' in the Rain is such a sweet, classic film. It's a musical about a silent moviestar who tries to change to sound movies and falls in love at the same time! In film studies we had to analyse the scene where he sings in the rain - it's so familiar now. I can practically do the dance myself.
Sometimes I get surprise memories from the movie of funny scenes - which there are so many of - and it's so hard not to laugh...
Btw two of the pictures above are from funny scenes I remembered today... whilst singing in my head in the rain.
