Hitchcock: Piece by Piece

I got a wonderful new book on the 17th of January - a late Christmas present I bought myself with money from my nonni. Unfortunately, I have to skip some parts of it because I haven't seen every Hitchcock ever and the book's full of spoilers! But what parts I have read are really really good. It's such a thorough book, you know, and it has all these documents (not the real ones of course), and such shiny pages, and I just love it!

Favourite film star of the week [before school]. I think I even like her more than Grace Kelly at the moment - sacrilege!

Red Rose

The rose at the very end of 'The Phantom of the Opera' is so beautiful. Not to mention the ring. Myself, I probably would have chosen the Phantom over Raoul... maybe....

The Strange Love of Martha Ivers

I'm back home, and sad if you missed this movie when it was on tv Tuesday morning 1:10. It was so exciting! I was always dubious concerning Kirk Douglas, but now I really like him and Barbara Stanwyck. But I hate her mink.

She is so sweet to watch - and Pollyanna has been a favourite of mine for awhile.

The ballet sequence from this movie is so beautiful. I don't ever notice how long it goes for when I'm watching it because it's just so captivating.

The Circus

My favourite Chaplin movie, not that I've seen all of his films, and it always makes me laugh. Especially when he walks the tighrope!

Somewhere Over The Rainbow

My favourite song this week. I haven't listened to any other, practically. Have a guess what's the next movie I'll watch.
I love how the real life parts of this film are in sepia, and the amazing parts in technicolour! And when the horse is changing rainbow colours...

Judy Garland has such a beautiful deep voice.
